Waste, resource recovery and contaminated land management: Assessing the economic contributions of the sectors to New Zealand

WasteMINZ is the largest representative body of Aotearoa New Zealand’s waste, resource recovery and contaminated land management sectors. Its members help to shape the sectors in New Zealand and provide input into relevant legislation and policy from central government.

The sectors find it challenging to influence policy in part because there is limited information and research on the combined impact of the sectors’ activities across the economy.

WasteMINZ commissioned NZIER to help bridge this gap by assessing the value of the sectors in New Zealand.
