Economic contribution of consulting: Focused on professional services firms working in the built and natural environment

ACE New Zealand commissioned NZIER to estimate the economic contribution that its members make.

We developed two approaches to estimating this value, using data from interviews, a survey, remuneration research and information from the New Zealand Infrastructure Commission. One approach estimated the additional value that consultants create compared to the revenues they earn. The other approach considered the avoided costs that client organisations do not incur because they can engage external consultants.
