A report for Better Border Biosecurity.
Biosecurity is at the top of the government’s and business’s agricultural agenda.1 As trade and people movement increase, and trade patterns change, the potential risks of biosecurity incursions may increase. Therefore, understanding the value of current biosecurity approaches is an important first step to further improving biosecurity effectiveness and efficiency.
The purpose of this report is to provide an initial cost-benefit analysis (CBA) that sets out the potential added value of border biosecurity control and research for plants and pathogens.
