Tal joined NZIER in March 2022 from Pharmac, where she was a part of the Health Economics teams conducting comprehensive health technology assessments of new pharmaceutical applications in New Zealand. Tal gained has key transferable strengths in critical appraisal, cost-utility modelling, and prioritisation processes from this role.
Before joining Pharmac, Tal completed her Master's in Public Health at the University of Otago with the BODE3 research group. Her project there considered the cost-effectiveness of fixed-dose combination medicines from a health system perspective. Tal has a strong health and public health background with previous experience teaching foundational epidemiology at the University of Otago. Tal enjoys the challenge of communicating literature reviews and modelling in a way that is accessible and understood by all.
