Trinh joined NZIER in July 2007. Prior to that she worked at the research section (Policy Support and Analysis Section / Specialist Support Team) of the Treasury.

Trinh is interested in development economics, labour economics, public policy and quantitative/ micro-econometric analysis. She has extensive experience in micro data (both from New Zealand and overseas).

Estimating the monetary value of the stock of human capital for New Zealand
Measuring wealth and savings, and assessing the adequacy of retirement saving for New Zealand households
Decomposing the wealth gaps between New Zealand born people and immigrants
Reviewing measures of household savings in New Zealand
