Recent experience
- Forecast the New Zealand economy, including interest rates, exchange rates and inflation for NZIER’s Quarterly Predictions
- Process NZIER’s Quarterly Survey of Business Opinion (QSBO) data, produce reports for the publication and prepare media release
- Write articles for NZIER’s column, Tracking the Economy, on National Business Review
- Co-authoring a research paper on “Instrument versus Targeting Rules in the Conduct of Monetary Policy”
- Undertook a statistical analysis for data concerning children with disabilities, deafness in particular
- Assisted with a bio-mathematics research paper constructing a mathematical model to describe the formation of honeydew droplets
Ryoko joined NZIER in June 2007 as an Economics graduate. She currently holds responsibilities for NZIER’s Quarterly Predictions and Quarterly Survey of Business Opinion. Her experience in research includes co-authoring and assisting research into monetary policy and bio-mathematics. Ryoko has also provided statistical analysis for research into language disorders in children. She has a strong interest in monetary policy, economic dynamics, modern mathematical analysis, and applied microeconomic theory.
Ryoko completed a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in Economics and Mathematics at the University of Canterbury. She was the first student to be allowed by the departments to combine Economics and Mathematics Honours program in one year.
