Ralph Lattimore has rejoined NZIER after a short term appointment with the OECD working on the trade performance of the faster emerging economies (Brazil, Russia, India, Indonesia, China and South Africa). He is an honorary fellow of the Victoria University School of Government and taught public economics in the ANZSOG programme. He is former Professor of International Trade Policy at Lincoln University. Ralph is an applied economist who specialises in market behaviour, economic transformation, international trade, competition law and agriculture, and he has worked extensively on economic transformations in New Zealand since 1983. He was a lay member of the High Court on Competition Law matters for ten years and has worked in over 20 countries and with many industries in his career as business consultant and researcher. Recent reports include network analysis of global supply chains, forecasting New Zealand’s comparative advantages and country trade reviews of Brazil, China and South Africa. |
