Peter joined NZIER in May 2007 after six months working for the Ministry of Social Development. Peter spent four months in Cambodia surveying rural households for his Masters thesis on small scale investment determinants.  He received a MCA first class honours in 2007 from the School of Economics and Finance, Victoria University, Wellington.

Since starting work with NZIER Peter has continued to develop his knowledge on emerging Asian economies. In 2007 he conducted two surveys in Cambodia. He has been involved with NZIER projects on small and medium-sized enterprise development, New Zealand technology platforms and services trade liberalisation. He has taught economic development, finance and international business in Cambodia, and tutored economic history at Victoria University, Wellington.
